This is my boyfriend’s latest tattoo. When he was just a young boy, his father’s ship got attacked by the Kraken. His entire crew had drowned or was eaten. He was the only survivor on the ship, and it was weeks before he floated ashore to rejoin with his son. So, my boyfriend got this tattoo of the Kraken to always appreciate that his father is alive.

This is my second tattoo; a swallow. I got this on February 18th, 2012. Although this is my second tattoo, it is my first colored tattoo.
This tattoo means a lot to me. When I was in high school, a lot of things were going wrong for me. I was in an abusive relationship and became depressed. My best friend backstabbed me when I trusted her. My parents’ marriage was falling apart, and I just felt hopeless. I felt as if life wasn’t for me anymore. I wanted to give up.
Long story short, I persevered and took whatever came my way. I left the abusive relationship three months after it started. I lost friends I thought were going to be with me for a very long time. My parents are working on their marriage. I got into my top college. I fell in love with someone who loves me as much as I do and we are still together to this day. I’m in a much better place, and my tattoo reminds me that no one can ever take away my light.

This was my second tattoo. It’s a Polynesian design by the lovely Chriss Higgins from Into you tattoo london. I this was influenced from my family’s love of Polynesia and all the art work my mother kept from her four year stay there before I was born.
